Without help from my friends, I would be incapable of doing just about anything, including this blog. So a great big shout-out to my friends, who not only managed to put up with me for a whole six days in Qatar, but — when not working or attending the TEDx conference — also chauffeured me around, fed me, taught me how to wash my own clothes, and helped me put together an audition video for this competition: http://samsungglobalblogger.th.msn.com/.
Yes — you can go to the Olympics too, without being an incredible athlete, perfect specimen of humanity, or famous person. All you have to do is show how, as a Samsung Global Blogger, you would show off all the cool stuff London has to offer during the Olympics — which sounds really, really hard and not fun at all, you guys.
So I submitted a 30-second video, directed by the brilliant (and very tenacious) @SpecialKRB, who should totally be either a Samsung Global Blogger or President of the United States, I’m not sure which. Because my friends are currently not with me at the mo, I’m totally not going to upload that audition video for you. I do, however, leave you with these fabulous words of inspiration: YOU’VE GOT 7 DAYS LEFT TO ENTER. GOOD LUCK!
Good luck!! You’ve got my vote and a gold medal for being an awesome blogger already!
Chow on London 2012!!!
Aw, thanks Serge!
Dear Chow,
My favorite thing in life is to meet you somewhere in the world and explore groceries, study menu options, seek your advice, watch TV, share new flavors, and undo my pants at the dinner table. Sorry that I also bring to the table endless repetitions of my stories, a need to analyze everything, unsubtle comments about everyone in the vicinity, bathroom humor, and the occasional bullying incident whenever you have a differing opinion from me. Your friendship makes me happy, proud, and fat.
Your #1 fan,
Karen
What a thing to say! You never undo your pants at the table. 🙂
Oh, you should definitely be the global blogger at the Olympics!
Or if not me, you! Why not audition? I could carry the camera!
The video looks even better online!
P.S. Doha misses you 😉
Thanks James. I miss Doha!
Hey! What a great video – I hope the judges choose you because your an amazing blogger who’s funny but without trying to be – a natural! I wish we could vote for you…fingers crossed you win the prize of the trip! Let any of us BKG addicts know if you get through to the next stage, where you have to show how your hometown is connecting with the Olympics and if you need any extras in the video, I’d be glad to star in it haha!
Thank you! If I do get through to the next round, there is a very good chance I will take you up on that!
